Fighting Gravity
First things first: if you see a show advertised at the Highlawn Pavillion for doors at 8, music at 9, don't even think about getting there until 10:30.
That being said, tonight was one of the most entertaining concerts I've ever seen. FG came out at 11:10, after Dan & I had been there for about three hours. In that time, all we could do was watch Hook (TBS was on the TVs) and play the question game. I also purchased a $2, 8 oz. Sprite. Obey Your Thirst.
I have never danced, screamed, chanted, yelled, sang, jumped as much at a concert as I did tonight. What was remarkable was that I only knew a handful of the songs that Fighting Gravity played, but I felt very much a part of the show. Two 50-minute sets later, I was utterly spent; I'm so tired right now.
One very important concert-going tip: if you are behind me and want to get in front of me, ask. Unless you're a 7-foot, 500 pound monster, I probably won't have a problem with it (of course, if you're a 7-foot, 500 pound monster, you probably won't bother asking anyway, but I digress). What really pisses me off is people who elbow their way in front of me, spilling beer everywhere, just to stand motionless in my Dancing Zone; I may dance badly, but at least I move around.
And that's it. I'm going to bed.
