Painful Movies, part deux

Bow down before my use of French. Surrender!

Anything I said the other night about Clerks being painful pales in comparison to the pain in watching Holden McNeil throw away an opportunity at eternal happiness with the one woman who complemented him so perfectly. As Dan said, you feel like slapping him around, saying to him "My God man, what is wrong with you?" But then you realize that there's no other way it could be; his inability to see past Alyssa's past is his tragic flaw. Their fated to be together, and fated to fall apart. It's a tragedy, and the greatest writing Kevin Smith has ever done (though I haven't had an opportunity to read Jersey Girl yet, so he may top himself).

It had been too long since I'd seen Chasing Amy. It won't happen again; one of the first things I do when I get home in a week is hitting The Stash and picking up a copy of the DVD. Nooch.
