More Hacker's Diet

Sitting around at work again, having finished the work that needs to be done for today, reading some more of The Hacker's Diet.

Plan to start your diet at a time when you have at least two weeks, ideally a month, of ``normal life,'' what you do in a typical day, ahead of you. It's hard enough to make the initial adaptation to losing weight without trying to fit it around a vacation, the holidays, extensive travel, lots of entertaining, and the like.

Based on this alone, I'd probably be best served starting immediately after getting home for good in May. A little later, however, the book says that

keeping busy is one of the very best ways to get over the initial hump in dieting. If you anticipate a particularly difficult and stressful week coming up at work, that's an excellent time to plan to start your diet.

Hmm. What could be more stressful than two weeks of classes with two major projects coming due, followed by finals week? OK, maybe not finals week, but the next two weeks should make up for it. Looks like Monday is the estimated start date, though I'm being purposefully wishy-washy so as to not seem like too much a hypocrite should I fail miserably.
