Hard at Work

I drew the 1PM-3PM shift in Hillside lab this afternoon, so I arrived at 12:55. Sign on the door:

Hillside general lab will be closed at 5pm on Fri, Apr 19 and will re-open at 1pm on Sun, Apr 21.

News to me. So I stick around for 10 minutes. By then, someone is waiting to use the lab, so I decide to go back to my room, find out who's the manager today, and page him. I do it, and 10 minutes later, I still haven't gotten a call back. So I come down to the lab to stand outside and direct people to open labs.

The lab was open. What is going on around here?
