Attacked

So I finally got around to seeing Attack of the Clones this morning. I managed to successfully avoid any spoilers before entering the movie, including during the past few days when it was all anyone would talk about. If you haven't seen it yet, don't read the rest.

Attack of the Clones rules. Even my sister liked it, and she doesn't like any of the Star Wars movies. A few notes:

  • To quote Amanda directly, Yoda kicks major ass. The concept of a two-foot muppet in a light saber battle with Christopher Lee is ridiculous, and should look horribly silly. It doesn't. Yoda is a certified badass, and it's fairly clear why he's considered one of the greatest Jedi of all time.
  • The story of Jango and Boba Fett is a good one; I wish that Lucas had taken a little more time to flesh out their relationship.
  • Natalie Portman: Oh. My. God.

Coming out of the movie, I had had a few complaints about continuity, but I've since resolved them in my mind (most centered around me realizing that Owen Lars is Anakin's stepbrother, not his half-brother).

Bring on Episode III.
