Above Reproach

Dick Cheney was quoted in CNN as saying, "When members of Congress suggest that the president of the United States had foreknowledge of the attack on September 11th, I think that's outrageous...that ain't criticism, that's a gross outrageous political attack, and it's totally uncalled for."

The job of the President--and the government, as a whole--is to accept criticism. If mistakes were made in the past, we must learn from them, not sweep them under the carpet or try to defend them under the guise of "support for the President in a time of crisis." We're going to see more and more of these calls for unwavering support of the government, and it's only going to get worse once the first asshole suicides in a mall somewhere and takes a dozen shoppers with him or her.

Thankfully, there are some out there willing to question the status quo.
