Johnny O's Recap
As will be the case for the last Wednesday of every month for the rest of the summer, my Uncle played at Johnny O's tonight. As will likely be the case for the last Wednesday of every month for the rest of the summer, I showed up and played a few tunes at Johnny O's tonight.
As I arrived, some guy was finishing up an opening set; turns out that guy was Matt Perrone, a fellow Identity and PMB fan. This world is small as hell.
I was pretty unsure as to what I would play going into tonight, and it turned out pretty Barenaked Ladies-heavy: Straw Hat, Fake Plastic Trees (first time live), Break Your Heart (also first time), Brian Wilson. Later on, I guested on It's the End of the World As We Know It and Black Balloon.
Also showing up tonight was Tony Rivera, classical guitar player. Picked up a copy CD of his and was "instructed" to burn it. After I give it a spin perhaps I'll post a few .oggs here.
Completely off topic: The Nets Rule. Bow down before us, lowly Celtics.
Thanks to everyone who came out tonight: Karen, Kristen, Jeanine, Claudine, Mom, Dad, Uncle Ernie. It was fun; we'll have to do it again sometime.
