Why?

Why is it so hard to drink the last inch (or so) of a Slurpee? It seems like no matter how many times I bang it against the table, chair, or floor, then sip, I get a few Slurpee particles followed by air. Aren't there enough talented engineers in the country to design a Slurpee cup that will make the last inch or two of a Slurpee as enjoyable as the first seven?
