Aladdin: Live on Stage!

Tonight was the high water mark (so far) in Amy's participation in the SRVCC's Youth Theater program. She starred in their production of Aladdin as Jasmine. And she kicked major ass.

Watching a little sister grow up is really an amazing thing, and her career with the SRVCC is the perfect metaphor for her life. She started out in The Wizard of Oz, unwilling to audition, acting as, essentially, an extra. She poked her head out of a flowerpot, danced as a flying monkey, and had no lines. A show or two later, her character had a name. A show or two later, she got to speak. And now she is, in name and reality, the star.

Amy, I'm more proud of you than I could ever express. Keep acting. Keep singing. You rule.
