Sucking And Blowing
I was at Shea Stadium today for the Mets game against the Diamondbacks. Once again, the Mets have done the impossible, managing to simultaneously suck and blow.
The Mets were winning after the first inning. Losing after the second. Winning, losing, winning, tied. Losing, losing, losing, lost. This weekend was a pivotal one in the Mets' season, and it pivoted the wrong way. The Mets are dead.
Naturally, the Mets will go on some sort of run in the coming weeks. I'll get all excited, believing in the possibility that they could turn it around for good, make a run at the Wild Card and maybe make some noise in the postseason. Then they'll break my heart. Like they do every year.
But I believe anyway.
