Band Hell

This morning saw the Marching Royal Dukes spend two and a half hours marching on Hillside field. It's times like this that I wish I had stayed consistent with my running over the summer; being in better shape would be paying dividends right now.

Auditions are mere hours away. By the end of rehearsal last night, I couldn't even play a D above the staff, and the audition piece (Thunder and Blazes) is hard. I can at least take comfort in the fact that, in my time here, I have never heard of a brass alternate.
