Gouging

For GHEALTH 100, we are required to log thirty hours of exercise in the semester, fifteen of which must be logged at UREC. In an attempt to educate the (largely freshman) class about the wonders of UREC, a spokeswoman came in yesterday with a video and a catalog of program offerings. I noticed that they provide personal trainers and thought to myself, "This could be a good idea. What better way to learn how to use the insane equipment over there?" Then I looked at the price.

US$35 for the initial session, which includes a "fitness profile" (mine: "You are out of shape." No shit.) After that, each one-hour session costs US$25. Although that might be a terrific value compared to real-world gyms, it's still far too much for me. Guess I'll be on my own over there.
