Let The Search Begin

The Mets have their scapegoat. While I've always been a Bobby Valentine supporter, I can certainly understand why he's no longer the manager of my Mets. He took this team from a laughingstock several years ago to a World Series appearance two years ago, but really hasn't done all that much since. I wish him nothing but the best.

More important than dwelling on the past, however, is the impending search for a new manager. I don't know who should be the manager, but upon first reading about Valentine's firing, three names popped into my head, some of whom may or may not be available this offseason, who I do not want, under any circumstances, managing the Mets. Buck Showalter (he has no clue how to manage a team on the field; he's an idiot), Dusty Baker (he's a great field manager, but all he does is wreck young pitchers, and the Mets have some good young ones coming up; he may re-up with the Giants), and Don Baylor (see Buck Showalter). I'll be keeping an eye on this.
