Apologies All Around
People make mistakes. That's life. What matters, however, is not that people do make mistakes, but how they handle them.
Some ignore their mistakes, or hope that they'll fix themselves. Those people bury evidence of mistakes and pray that it never happens again. I do not want to be this person.
I want to acknowledge my mistakes, and make my acknowledgement as public as possible. For this to have any weight, the original mistake must also be visible: how can I apologize if what I am apologizing for does not exist?
With this in mind, I respectfully apologize to the clarinet section in general and the section leaders who perpetrated the prank in particular. My attacks in this space were written in haste, with much passion. I also apologize to the Marching Royal Dukes as a whole, because I am told that what I wrote has been interpreted as a reflection of the group as a whole, when in fact it is not.
I cannot change what happened. Instead, I look toward the future, and hope that I might choose words with more care.
Thanks for your understanding.

Why apologize? I don’t feel the need to honestly…I come outta the bathroom from pukin my guts out on Saturday to find a clarinet player walkin away with my horn. What The Fuck Is That??? You took the sheep….ok we got pissed….me especially as 2 games ago when the sheep first came out, the looks i got from holding up that sheep and screaming were enough to kill anyone…but i still did it didnt i? Then the sheep is taken bc these fuckin teenyboppers that sit waaaay low in the stands saw that it was outrageously more clever than anything they’ll ever come up with, and took it as a joke. A joke?? If it was a joke, when we got serious and demanded our “property” back….why was it not promptly returned? Why was other personal property (my horn) also taken….and had to be wrestled back from the bastards? I meant what i said in my commment….had my horn been somehow scratched in this “joke”, I would have punched someone. I didn’t attack band staff, I played (as much as humanly possible with a stomach ache from hell) when we were “boycotting” songs. So in short I say….leaders do what you must to repair the bridges you feel youve burned….it was a shitty act….it was wrong….this is an open ended forum on a personal website….life lesson learned: DONT SAY SHIT YOU DONT MEAN…..I’m not apologizing…done
If there’s one thing this thing has taught me, it’s that Maximum Aardvark is where it’s at. I will be a regular.
Yeah Austin! I’ve been a regular for a couple weeks now ;) It’s quality!
Well this was a bit crazy, wasn’t it? Hopefully we can all do the necessary apologizing/letting go, and go on with our happy band lives. Thanks to AJ for letting us use his site as our personal bitching post. Have a good night, kids. See you at band. :0)
I am one of the clarinet section leaders. I have been watching all of this unfold but haven’t posted anything until now. Instead of being on the forum angry, I talked things out with one of the trombone section leaders last night and today. I think that things have been worked out (I’d like to think so anyway) and we can all just move on.
I just want to say that I’m sorry if what was meant as a good-natured prank was not interpreted that way. We’re not jealous, or bitter about being in the back of the field, or upset about what instrument we play…it was just supposed to be fun. I’m sorry if things got out of hand, it wasn’t supposed to.
I’d like to thank everyone who sent apologies. I know it meant a lot to me and to those who were personally attacked in the posts.
So now…I think we’re all ready to move on from this and get back to all just being fellow bandmembers again.
