Complete Shock

My predictions for the 2002 American League Division Series [sidenote: turns out the plural of 'series' is 'series'. Who knew?] were both wrong. For the first time since 1997, there will be no World Series in the Bronx, and the A's make another early postseason exit. Shocking.

So now we've got the high-batting average, low walk Angels against the left-for-dead Twins. Naturally, I'll be rooting for the Twins from here on out, but I question their ability to beat the Angels.

The Angels are playing the best ball of their lives right now, having just finished up a series where they hit a postseason record .375 against Yankee pitching. On the other hand, the Twins managed to beat one of the true powerhouses of 2002 and seem like the team of destiny in the AL this year. I can't even break it down to make predictions. I will, however, be watching the ALCS with an interest this year that I haven't known in a long time.

Let's go Twins!

  1. Lets go Rally Monkey. You take the Twins, I’m gonna stick by the Angels in 6.

  2. Very much a dilemma, Contraction City Twins, or Rally Monkey. I’m definitely straddling the fence until one of the teams makes me like them.

  3. Wouldn’t it be great to see Selig handing the World Series Trophy to the Twins.

    F**k that guy

    Go Twins

  4. Dad, you’ve swayed me. Twins it is.

  5. Doesn’t matter who comes from the AL…Cardinals will Whoop ‘em.
