Zombieriffic
Dinner was nearly on the table when I arrived home from work today at 5:30. Within 45 minutes, we were done and I was upstairs to play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4, the only PS2 game I got this Christmas.
I didn't stop until a few minutes ago, and it feels like it was an hour.
The Grand Theft Auto series of games for PlayStation is still the greatest I've ever played, for sheer depth and immersion in a game universe. They're fun, entertaining, and absorbing. Neither GTA3 or Vice City, however, can match the insane playability of Tony Hawk 4. I'd estimate my total time playing the game since I got it at around twelve hours, and I've only begun to explore three of the ten or so levels. Though the learning curve is steep initially, I've begun (especially tonight) to string together some really nifty combinations that have netted me up to 80,000 apiece (though I still have a long way to go; my brother reported a 168,000 point combo earlier).
As far as I can tell, the game is never truly over. As long as one is interested in creating the "perfect combo" (impossible), there is always at least a player created goal for the game. More likely, I'll never complete all of the gaps in the game (Tony Hawk's answer to Vice City's hidden packages) and play it for months to come.
