The Year In Review: Things I Have Learned

A look back at the wrong and stupid things I have said in print in 2002.

• I am not nearly the evaluator of baseball talent that I think I am.
• Time still hasn't told.
• Come to think of it, I'm not a very good predictor of hockey success, either.
• Back to that baseball thing ... Roberto Alomar was a number 1 draft pick. Ugh.
• I must never again ask nurses what the most disgusting thing they have ever seen is.
• Working between different versions of the JVM can be absolute hell.
• Don't count your chickens before they are hatched.
• No servers on the Optimum Online network, bitch!
• Video game release dates are not set in stone.
• In the future, calling anything "hardcore Bardo-style action" will probably not convey what I want it to convey.
• Every day is a good day for a total system backup.
• Things can always get worse.
• I badly underestimated what I thought my feelings would be on Tori Amos.
• Finally, and most importantly, never pick a fight with the clarinet section.
