The 2003 Saturn Ion
I've been without a car for the past week. Living miles from campus, it hasn't been easy: I've spent nights on Amanda's floor and gotten several 8 AM rides from Dan, among other things. Dan, Amanda: thanks for helping me out and just generally accomodating my carless ass for the past week.
I've been in discussions with Mom and Dad regarding how I'll be getting around in the near future. The plan had been to keep Slartibartfast until I graduated, then get a new car (the Toyota Prius was looking nice). Slartibartfast's refusal to make it past 70,000 miles, however, threw a monkey in the wrench.
Mom and Dad went car shopping earlier in the week, and settled (fairly quickly) on the Saturn Ion. Today, they drove it down to Harrisburg, PA, where Amanda and I met them for a quick lunch and car handoff.
So I have a new car. It's a joy to drive. Mom, Dad: I can't say enough. Thank you. I love you.

Glad you like it. Good luck.
Looks like Dan’s parents will be saving rent money now. The trunk looks quite roomy.
They’re overjoyed! Except now they’re trying all sorts of ways to save more money…their latest idea is for me to become Amish to save money on the electric bill.
This works well because I like black clothes and buttons, and would so look awesome with a huge beard.
