A Rude Awakening

For the past two months, my PlayStation 2 habit has been fed exclusively with the insanely great Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4. In the past week, I've completed the 190th goal and several of the levels' gap lists; to complete the game, I need about 20 gaps and five cash icons. For a change of pace yesterday, I dusted off my copy of Vice City, unplayed since December 24th, and popped it in the PS2.

The opening cut scene played. "What happened to the auto-load function?" I thought.

As it turns out, nothing happened to the auto-load function: it just couldn't find my data file, which was apparently deleted from my memory card sometime in the last seven weeks since I played it. So, I'm back to square one in Vice City. I'm up to 10% complete, but it's hard to get into it again; I'm having a hard time remembering what I did last time and what hasn't been done yet now. Just the same, I hope to someday complete what is likely to go down as the greatest game of all time. It'll just take awhile longer.

  1. Wow. Have fun!

  2. About 13 years ago my aunt was pregnant with her first child. She spent her entire pregnancy playing the original Zelda game on the first Nintendo game set (I think it was the first one). She was just about to beat it. Anyway, my family went over to visit one afternoon and Shawn and Chris started playing around on the game. By the end of the afternoon, Chris had erased her entire game file. I have never seen a pregnant lady cry so much. She still refuses to speak of the situation. LOL.
