Unforgotten
I had CNN on for most of the day, if for no other reason than background noise, and the correspondent from Camp New Jersey mentioned all of the phone calls being made by the soldiers beginning with the phrase "I don't know when I'll be able to talk to you again..."
And for some of them, that'll probably be the last time they talk to their wives/husbands/friends/children. And I thought of Andrew Schlussel, who I went to school with from kindergarten through high school, who joined the Army after freshman year of college. I haven't had any contact with him since then, and I have no idea where he is.
War fucking sucks.
Later... I may have overreacted. His profile is on his school's ROTC site, and it seems like he's still at school.
