A Change of Heart
I wound up not walking out of class today. Now that war has begun, I don't feel like I thought I would. I'm still pissed that we're at war, and I still won't support it. But I didn't know what the tone of the meeting on the Commons would be. I just want it to end as soon as possible.
I did make a shirt, though, that said "Fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity," and wore it around all day. I only got one comment on it, and it was positive, but it was fun to watch the faces of people as I walked past them. Thanks, Doc, for the inspiration.

Maybe you should block that comment from certain people.
As George Muller ( 37 years in the UN) said recently “this is what waging peace looks like”.
This is the first war in history where there was an international, public debate about a war, whether it is legitimate etc. Whatever you think about the war, this represents some progress in how we go about having them. So the shirt is funny, but people who think they are ‘fighting’ for peace just have limited vocabulary.
I don’t think you could make the joke if you used the correct term.
Things get worse before they can get better there must be war before there can be peace. By inflicting war on Iraq, the US is making a statement, I might not agree with this war but you must understand that throughout the years peace always follows war. You also have to realize that the peace was not being kept by the world, we are always at war sometimes with other countries and sometimes with our own. We can never truely win a war or gain peace for people in general are not peaceful. Sorry, I just felt like saying something about the matter you don’t have to mind my comment lol. I just feel you should have all your information about what causes peace before making such a major statement as wearing a shirt like that around campus.
