I Was Thirsty
I'm sitting in work, catching up on Salon, and I'm thirsty. We're not permitted to have food/drink in the lab (seeing as we need to set an example for the people who never follow the rules), so I get up and walk to the water fountain. As I lower my head, I notice that there are two streams coming out of the fountainhead.
Why? I know that not all fountains have this. Are the ones with two streams "high-end" water fountains? Is it just to deliver more water to the thirsty user? Does it have something to do with stream stabilization? And why is it spelled "stabilization" when "stable" is spelled "stable?"

Sounds like you had a lot of time on your hands today!! Hope the afternoon is as exciting!
it sounds like the fountain had gum stuck in it
I can’t stress this enough: there was nothing physically wrong with the fountain. The are two holes in the metal for two streams, and they converge to form one stream about an inch out of the head.
how did the two holes get there…you never know if someone was extra talented with using gum lol
