Explanations and a Warning
I haven't written a whole lot around here of late. Compared to the last eight months of my life, I've been working a lot harder and a lot more often the past three weeks. Sure, I could provide daily recaps of my day at the office, but they'd be even more boring than Amanda's recent catch-up post. Instead, I've tried to just throw out a few things that have caught my eye, like movies, music, and the weather.
In the next couple weeks, it'll only get worse. Tomorrow I'm taking my first-ever business trip, which, in turn, encompasses several other firsts: first time in a hotel room alone, first time on an airplane alone, first time switching planes alone...you get the idea. The trip itself is a cool one, as I'm going to Alabama to hang with the guys from Digium and learn more about Asterisk. It'll be hardcore geek stuff, and I'll try to blog it, but a) I've only got one day there, and b) I don't have a computer of my own. So no promises.
This Friday is my getaway to Wildwood with Amanda, and I have no intention of even seeing a computer except for the five minutes it will take to order Tori Amos tickets on Saturday morning.
Next week is extremely abbreviated at the office, as I'll still be on vacation Monday, in for Tuesday and Wednesday, and go to my doom on Thursday. Yes, I am a wimp, and I don't plan on seeing a computer next weekend, either. I plan to be in bed, on Percocet, thankyouverymuch.
After that, things'll be a bit more predictable around here. I'll no longer be able to make weekly treks to Pennsylvania (which is bad for me, but likely good for the ultimate health of my car, which has been getting a workout lately). I'd say that, by June 20 or so, I'll be back to writing more regularly about the daily banalities of life that are of interest to family members and friends I don't see as often as I should.
