Buddy Holly - Greatest Hits
I never actually owned this CD. My parents had it on cassette tape, and I discovered it when I was way too young to know anything about it besides "Hey, this tape has a lot of songs I hear on the radio" (as my mom listened to oldies stations religiously). I do recall listening to it endlessly in the room formerly known as our "playroom" (which later became my sister's bedroom) on a stereo that included a turntable, and I recall building a guitar out of construx so that I could put on pretend concerts while the tape played in the background.
My uncle used to play songs for me on his guitar (which, incidentally, is now my guitar). The one I remember best of all is Everyday, found on this record.

You look just like Buddy Holly!
But anyway, it’s funny (at least for me) to think of parents having good musical taste, because my Mom’s music collection doesn’t extend past the range of folk music, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard my Dad listen to anything except the Beach Boys, the Eagles, Meatloaf, and Jimmy Buffett.
Not that there’s anything wrong with those bands (or folk music), it’s just not a wide range.
Actually, there IS something wrong with Jimmy Buffett.
