Cherry Poppin' Daddies - Zoot Suit Riot

First time I heard this record was on the way back from Seaside Heights in Spencer Stone's car on the day before junior year of high school started. I was hooked pretty quickly, though I thought the title track was "Zoot Suit Ryan," and I couldn't figure out who he was.

This was right at the start of the swing revival, and I really wanted to learn to swing dance. It never happened, though the following year, during my Drum Major year of marching band, we played Zoot Suit Riot as the opener to our swing show. That, in all probability, is the closest I will ever come to being a big band leader.

Incidentally, I didn't understand why the band name was dirty until I got to college.
