David Gray - White Ladder

David Gray - White Ladder Dave Matthews started his record label with one artist: David Gray. Surprisingly, I didn't buy this record because Dave Matthews liked it. I heard very good things about it (admittedly, probably from people who did buy it because Dave Matthews liked it) and liked it on its own merits. Finding David Gray's other releases was almost a challenge, looking for imports and such, until ATO re-released several of them in the United States.

One night, at Johnny O's, I played Babylon with my whole family there, and they loved it. When it got some radio play months later, it felt good to have introduced them to it.

Comments and Trackbacks

  1. I wasn’t terribly impressed with David Gray early on, but then I listened some more to his albums and started to like them a lot.

Unfortunately, I can’t listen to this album anymore because it has certain unhappy memories attached to it.

    I blame you.

  2. I hate when memories ruin otherwise good songs/records. Such a waste.
