Harry Connick Jr. - She

Harry Connick Jr. - She Before Napster, I'd hear songs on the radio all the time that I didn't know. Occasionally, I'd hear it often enough to do some research and find out what record it was on. (I Could Only) Whisper Your Name was one of those songs, but I couldn't justify buying a CD when I only knew one song. I despaired.

I used to babysit for a family in town that had a fairly sizable CD collection. One night, after the kid had gone to bed, I was looking through them, and I saw She. I threw it in the CD Player and listened to track 5 several times. Then I listened to a few other tracks, and I was pretty well convinced that I wanted to buy it.

This story had a moral, but I'm unclear as to what it was supposed to be.

  1. The moral is: listen before you buy.

PS: I ended up with the CD almost the same way - snarked it out of my s.i.l.’s collection, then I had to buy it for me.

    Good luck with your blog-a-thoning!

  2. I was going to suggest “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket” as a moral, but Patti’s was much better.
