Independence Day - Original Soundtrack
I'd been excited about Independence Day from the first time I heard about it, probably sometime in late 1995. I'd loved Stargate (still do) and, really, what could be better than aliens blowing up the White House? In preparation for the release, I ordered the soundtrack in early June from the now-defunct 1-800-MUSICNOW.com (my first online purchase, actually).
The package arrived in the morning, on a day when I was working at day camp. We'd been rained out that morning, though, so I was picked up at Woodcliff School by mom, and she brought the package to me. I played it when I got home and for several weeks thereafter, nonstop. This is the first film score I ever really got excited about, and will therefore always remain one of my favorites.

Comments and Trackbacks
Independence Day was one of the few movies I remember seeing in a movie theater with my Dad.
My Dad is vehemently anti-movie-theater, you see. Kind of like how you used to be vehemently anti-cell-phone.
I like how things are one way and then later they’re completely different.
