Tori Amos - from the choirgirl hotel

Tori Amos - From The Choirgirl Hotel Hi, I'm Amanda, and I've decided, at AJ's request, to do some guest-blogging on this auspicious day. Anybody that knows me knows I love Tori. Practically every Tori fan is like "Oh, Little Earthquakes, that's what did it for me!" And while I did hear songs from that CD first, via my cousin, I wasn't really hooked.

I remember wandering around a Borders near Philly, and hearing Black Dove playing over the speakers and thinking "Is this music even from Earth?" We were with a friend of my mom's and she said, "There's too much breathing in this song, and I thought "But that's what makes it so great!" I asked the tatooed/pierced/dyed woman at the counter who it was, and, with much pleasure, she pointed out that it was Tori Amos. I thanked her and that day listened to it obsessively. And do still. The booklet is totally beat up from use. It definitely helped me through high school.

  1. Amanda, YOU do too much breathing.

    OH. SN. AP.

In all honesty, Tori has a beautiful voice but I’ve never listened to her enough to get into her.

  2. Amanda, you’ve told me that there’s no Tori CD that you can listen to without skipping at least one song, so I don’t feel bad admitting the same thing. With the exception of Scarlet’s Walk, this is the CD on which I skip the fewest songs.
