NJ Firefighter's Convention 2003
Amanda and I made the trek back to Wildwood last weekend for the NJ Firefighter's Convention. I put up a bunch of pictures in the usual place.
It was a major departure from previous Conventions, if not in fact, at least in feeling. The last time I went was 2001, just a few days after September 11, and that Convention felt different, too. I don't mean to say I didn't have a good time, because I did. But it was different, because I'm a lot different than I was in 1999.
All that said, I was happy to spend time with my family again, especially Amy; she's just way too cool for me, and I'm fortunate to have some rub off when I hang out with her.
A few brief notes (I've been loving this bulleted list theme lately; less effort than writing properly):
- Shooting bottle rockets out of one's ass is not something that only happens in movies. Though I wish it was.
- There was a major jellyfish tide or something going on. All sorts of dead or dying jellies washed up on the beach.
- My Aunt Margaret is a really amazing lady. She finished off two beers in the time she spent hanging out with us.
- Delaware is way bigger than it needs to be.
