Something Big is Gonna Happen

Hurricane Isabel has arrived in Harrisonburg. It's not raining much yet, but it is raining, and the wind looks a little gusty from the safety of this computer lab. I'll be walking considerable distances between each of my next several classes, all probably without the benefit of an umbrella (for I like my umbrella, and would like to have it for future storms).

All of the coastal Virginia colleges shut down yesterday; UVA is closed as of 1 PM today. I'm not expecting to have my 3:30 class.

I'll be sure to put up pictures if I see anything picture-worthy.

One Hour Later: Isabel is here, and it is raining hard. I am very wet. Time for class!

Later still: Class is cancelled, so is work. Yay weekend!

  1. Be careful!! And keep us posted; looks like you’ll have it worse than us.

  2. Oh man, I’m an ass. Here I was, all relieved that Isabel wasn’t hitting up north, and I forgot you guys were down there. Well, uh … stay away from windows. Right? I think I heard that somewhere. And enjoy your long (windy) weekend.
