Amy got a Game Boy Advance SP for Christmas. She's had a gift certificate to a local video game shop lying around since her birthday, and so decided it was time to expand her meager GBA collection. Asked for a recommendation, I had to suggest Zelda: A Link To The Past, as it's supposed to be an exact recreation of the Super Nintendo game of the same name. I wasn't sure if it was quite up her alley, though, so I tried to connect my old SNES to show her what it was. To my great amazement, it worked.
I played A Link To The Past for two hours last night and four today. It's done.
I was amazed that, after at least six and probably closer to eight years, I was able to complete the game so quickly. Granted, I did not find the blue cane of protection, and I'm still missing seven pieces of heart, but the game is beaten. Amy, having bought the GBA version yesterday, has only just completed the first dungeon.
Oh yeah: I also beat F-Zero on the hardest difficult setting last night.
Up next for me is probably either Super Mario All-Stars (for Super Mario Bros. 3 in particular) or Super Mario World. Who needs a PS2?

The blue cane of protection was worthless anyway. All it did was shield you. Anyone worth their salt at the game didn’t need additional protection. It was like the accessory for handicapped players. Give me a hookshot and a upgraded boomerang over that any day of the week.
Well, I had the cape, which serves the same purpose as the cane but also allows one to walk through those bouncy things. You actually need it to get the piece of heart near the entrance to Death Mountain. But yes, the cane was a piece of crap.
