Why can't Winamp talk to iTunes?

My Aunt needed me to install more memory in her iBook, so she left it with me for a few days. It’s nice that iTunes discovered my brother’s library as soon as I plugged it into our network (he has an iMac), but why can’t someone write a plugin for Winamp that does Rendezvous? A cursory Google search reveals very little, and searching Winamp’s plugin site for “Rendezvous” returns no results. I don’t know a whole lot about how Rendezvous works, but shouldn’t this be possible?

Lazyweb, I invoke thee: write me a Winamp 5 plugin that will communicate with iTunes via Rendezvous.
